ok… i’m rolling with the lakers!

I hate to write this, but I’m going with the Lakers this year. I’m really not a die hard Lakers fan, because my team is The Boston Celtics, which didn’t make out of their series. I choose LA because, overall they’re the better team and plus they have something to prove this year. Let your eyes be introduced to this vintage Laker portrait.

Who took the place of these two?

turning up those jams that your parents listen to.

If I can remember correctly, when I was real young (like in my one digit years) I remember on Saturday mornings waking up to my mother playing her music really loud threw the living room speakers. To some this might be an annoying experience, but for me these Saturdays were the most interesting for me, because I always woke up to good music.. it was like a good feeling traveling threw my body whenever I heard those tunes. Those tunes consisted of; The Gap Band, Zap and Roger, Charlie Wilson, James Brown, Bobby Blue Bland, just to name a few.

I didn’t know that they had so much style at the time.

working hard or hardly working?..

I will choose the first one. I have been working extremely hard these last few months.. I’m not complaining at all because when you work hard for something for so long, you can enjoy the rewards that come after that work and truly cherish them. The thing I have been working so hard for is my brand.. I have had; setbacks, detours, and days were I wanted to give up, but I’m here today to tell you, I didn’t give up and nor will I. By saying this, THE SUPREME TOUR GARMENTS ARE AROUND THE CORNER! The reason why I’m writing this post is to let you know what I have been up to and why you haven’t seen daily post for me.I know this blog is about me and my life but, I don’t want to overload it with post just about me.

So, on that note while finishing some last minute designs, I decided to take a break and scroll threw a few blogs, and ran across a trailer preview of this classic movie, the new and improved Transformers 2. I must say, the preview caught my attention for a couple minutes, stopping my designing process and all!

What caught my artistic eye was how this movie is put together. Like how do you capture big machines like that? It has to be computer animated or something! But, overall I think this one out did the first.

More post to come,

  Drake.

culture at its finest.

“Coming to America”, is the most classic movie around today.. the above title says it all. This piece of art captures the African culture at its best, and I cant forget the New York feel also. Whoever directed this movie had a good focus on where he wanted to go with it by mixing African culture and the New York culture as one. I can remember back when i first was introduced to this motion picture, i really didnt understand this movie to its full deep-ness( I hope thats a word! ).. the story of the movie, rather.

The deep-ness of the story is basicly about, Prince Akeem (Eddie Murphy) is pushed to have an arranged marriage by the laws of his country Zamunda. But, he has other plans, to find his soul mate. So, his father allows him and his friend”babysitter” Simi (Arsenio Hall) to set out to New York to find Prince Akeem a wife.

Untitled-2

This fantastical fairy tale stars Eddie Murphy as Prince Akeem, a pampered African prince who is yearning to be self-sufficient in his extremely opulent society, where his every whim is catered to. When Akeem turns 21 he defies the wishes of his kingdom and refuses to marry the beautiful bride who has been chosen for him. Instead, he sets out for America to find true love with his trusty sidekick.

Determined to appear common, the pair arrive in Queens, New York, and quickly have to adapt to a world where they are no longer royalty and can’t seem to find a modern woman who suits the prince’s tastes–until he meets Lisa McDowell (Shari Headley), the lovely daughter of Cleo McDowell (John Amos), who owns McDowell’s restaurant, a fast-food restaurant suspiciously like McDonald’s. Akeem and Semmi get jobs at McDowell’s and set about charming the unsuspecting Lisa. As the romance blossoms, Akeem has an increasingly difficult time hiding his true identity, especially when his royal parents (James Earl Jones and Madge Sinclair) and their entourage arrive in New York, eager to return their only heir to Africa.

took a few days off.

The reason why you haven’t seen daily post is because I decided to give my self a few days off and also decided to enjoy the first week since I’ve been out of school. The photo you see below is how my desk looked with my essentials during those few days; computer screen blank, phone on vibrate, pencils not being used, and last my favorite reading material pushed to the side.

When I say “a few days off ” I mean turning my laptop off which means no reading emails, no blogging, no designing..no Internet activity at all. Those days off was a must for because when you stare at a 15 inch computer screen( I’m not bragging on the size) everyday for countless months, it takes a toll on your eyes and brain and makes you forget what this world really has to offer. Study shows that human beings worry more about their personal things more than other humans. When you engage yourself in this thing we call ” cyber space ” as a human you forget about the “real” world and forget that you have duties to maintain in this summer weather, what are those duties? these duties vary from person to person, some may have to get a summer job, some may have an appointment with the local spa, some may have to be at every party thrown, some may have to take their kids to sporting events, enjoying family bbq’s, and so on.

In conclusion, Iknow on this blog you may find things very non serious. But there are times that you have to joke and some were you have to take a more serious approach towards things, and this post falls under the more serious side of things. I write this because I’ve experience this aswell, and I’m still working on this. My point that I’m trying to make is, these worthless things that we attach ourselves to are wasting our precious life away.. at the end of the day they’re just “things”. So, put those blackberries, iPod’s, laptops, or whatever your “thing” is, down and enjoy what the man upstairs put on these beautiful earth. Go outside and enjoy this arkansas weather while it last!

that journey has come to a end.

Yes people the screen printer jorney has come to a end. Yesterday I decided to get off my lazy behind and search for a printer in the little rock area.. bad weather and all. The first company I went to was closed or closed down or something, but the second one I went to was the right one for me; Section 8 skateboard shop. After me and the owner Matt conversed about the price range, print quality, and all the buisness that is at hand we decided on a date to produce the line, which should be this friday, I’m not good with setting dates as you can see because the line was suppose to produced a couple of months ago (!) But, things like this helps your line develop because you dont want to rush it, and also I wanted to find a good printer that knows what I need.
